Drives from Middletown, NY · Planning estimates, no live traffic
Based on the user-supplied photograph of a Scenic Hudson park sign dated 2007. The sign is reference material; this is an independent guide, unaffiliated with Scenic Hudson or AllTrails.
For accessible AllTrails park pages, routes follow the page’s displayed “Top trails” order, capped at three. Other verified matches are labeled separately and do not imply an official top-three ranking. Missing slots are never filled with unrelated hikes.
Ratings, distances, difficulty, and rankings are static research snapshots from pages accessed October 18, 2026. Some search and page caches date to 2025 or early 2026. This site has no live AllTrails API or live conditions feed. Open each source to check the latest details.
Starting location defaults to central Middletown, NY. Enter a city, ZIP code, or address, select a matching place, and the atlas recalculates road-based drive estimates for all 28 parks. “Use Middletown” restores the default. Your custom starting location lasts until you reload the page.
Location searches are sent to Photon; selected coordinates are sent to OSRM car routing on OpenStreetMap roads. These providers receive your search or selected location to perform the lookup. The atlas does not save your custom location in browser storage.
Drive times are approximate, without live or historical traffic. Routing estimates are rounded to the nearest five minutes with no added planning buffer. Mount Beacon from the default Middletown origin uses a local user estimate of about 35 minutes; other parks and custom origins use the route model. Actual travel time varies with your exact start, route, and traffic. Default Middletown estimates were calculated October 18, 2026; custom estimates are calculated when you select a location.
Approximate park pins may not identify a parking entrance. Directions open Google Maps with your chosen starting location prefilled so you can check the route and current traffic. Closure notices still apply.
Solid numbered pins use directions coordinates from current Scenic Hudson park pages. Outlined pins are approximate locations where an official coordinate was unavailable. These are park reference points, not trail routes or turn-by-turn navigation. Routes with different starts are noted in the details.
Orange County’s Kowawese / Plum Point page states that the park is closed until further notice. Cached AllTrails data also marks its two listed routes closed. The park remains on the map to preserve the original sign.
Park names and descriptions were cross-checked with the Scenic Hudson park directory. Each detail panel links its park and trail sources. Photos are served from and credited to Scenic Hudson; individual photographer credits are available on the linked park pages. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors; terrain tiles © OpenTopoMap, SRTM.
Saved places stay in this browser only. “Near me” asks for location only when clicked and uses it locally to center the map.
